The Progress Tracker
The kanban board where you track what you're learning, column by column.
The Progress Tracker is the kanban board at the heart of every Skillboard. It's made up of Progress Cards - each one a piece of the broader thing you're learning - moving through three columns as you work through them.
The three columns
- Not Started - cards you haven't picked up yet
- In Progress - cards you're actively working through
- Learned - cards you've finished
Grab the handle on the left edge of a card and drag it into the next column when you pick it up or finish it. Your progress saves automatically - there's no separate save step.
Card types
Progress Cards come in four types, each with its own kind of content:
- Skill - a hands-on ability to practice
- Knowledge - something to understand or memorize
- Project - a larger, applied piece of work
- Habit - a recurring practice
Habit cards are the exception: they live in their own Habit Tracker on the board's homepage, not in this kanban board.
Difficulty
Every card carries a difficulty rating - Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert - so you can gauge how much of a stretch a card will be before you commit to it.
Search, sort, and filter
Each column has its own search box, plus sort (by name, difficulty, XP, or boost) and filter controls, and a toggle between a detailed and a compact card view - handy once a column has a lot of cards in it.
Completing a card
Moving a card into Learned triggers a small celebration and adds XP to your profile - see XP & Levels for how that adds up.
Not sure where to start?
If a board doesn't make it obvious which card to tackle first, check whether it has a Pathway - a guided, ordered sequence of cards built by the community. See Pathways.
Questions?
Every Progress Tracker has a short in-app tutorial available from its header, and each board's Help page covers anything specific to that community. For anything else, see Contact.
