Creating & Managing a Skillboard
Starting a new Skillboard and what changes once you're its Admin.
Anyone can start a new Skillboard from /create-skillboard. Creating one makes you its first Admin.
Setting it up
The creation form asks for:
- Name - checked live for availability as you type
- Description - what the board is about
- Category - required, picked from a dropdown
- Tags - to help people find it
- Banner image - the board's visual identity
- Visibility - Public or Private
A preview pane shows what the board will look like as you fill the form in.
Public vs. private
Public boards can be found and joined by anyone. Private boards are invite-only - you build an invite list as part of setup, and only people on it (or added later) can join or see much beyond the board's basic info.
After it's created
Once a board exists, its Admin controls settings, membership, and moderation from there - name, tagline, description, visibility, the banner image, promoting or removing members, and (if it ever comes to it) deleting the board. See Roles & Permissions for the full breakdown of what Admins, Moderators, Cardinals, and Members can each do.
